Over the course of this year, I’ve discovered a lot of new brands. One of these brands is Joya. I know Joya has been around for a long time, but for some reason I just never picked one up. Probably because in the ever growing cigar industry, there is no lack of variety and choices.
This cigar might be in my top cigars I’ve had this year. Heck, this cigar might be one of the best cigars I’ve had to date. The Joya de Nicaragua Cinco Decadas is an anniversary cigar; celebrating 50 years of Joya de Nicaragua. The cigar is a medium to full bodied cigar, filled with some of the most amazing Nicaraguan tobacco. The cigar has a nice flavor profile, with hints of toastiness and sweetness. My smoking experience was amazing with a smooth draw and perfect construction. I paired this cigar oddly enough with a cold glass of Coke. For me there is something about a Coke or a Dr. Pepper with a cigar. The sweetness compliments the cigars flavors and for me enhances my overall experience. This is probably one of the first cigars that made me immediately think “man, I’d like to have a box of these.” If you have the opportunity to try one, please do, you won’t be dissapointed.
